This weeks workshop pieces....just in time for Christmas gifts.
I am demonstrating these at a workshop this week. a Calendar that will stand on a desk and a book mark complete with its own pouch. Both would make a wonderful personal gift for Christmas. The Calendar has a Tulip on the front made with an oval punch and the Bookmark has a Heleconia flower made with the Bird Punch. Both are very effective and pleasing designs for these 2 projects . A variety of techniques will be shown and I am sure the ladies will go away very pleased with their 'Make and Takes' this week. I have so many things I want to do in this papercraft that I wake up in the morning wanting to go to my craft room immediately. But life must go on and the day to day running of a home needs to be sorted first. I can but just dream.

Another great Idea for a cute inexpensive Kris Kringle gift for Christmas.
How many times before Christmas do we have to take a small gift for a Kris Kringle at the last get together before the big day. With the expense of Christmas looming I have been thinking of some cute little gifts that are not expensive to make, but will be appreciated by the recipient. Here is another one....a Calender that will stand up on your desk.

Off the Page with some Christmas Pressies.
I don't know if you are like me, but I really like giving more than I do receiving. I love to give presents that are useful, not expensive and personal and preferably made by me. Past Christmas gifts have been a lovely plate of home made slices and biscuits. Plants that I have propogated and put in a pot and fancied up with paper and ribbon. Hand towel embroidered etc. This year my presents will be square tissue boxes. The ideas for them are limitless. I found a Teddy Bear paper that was just right for a friend who is Teddy Bear mad. Birds , flowers, stamped images etc will adorn the many that I will be making for my friends this year along with some very snazzy book marks. So if you are a freind that usually get a little gift from me at Christmas you will be able to have a sneak preview.
Contact me if you would like to come to a workshop to learn to make some great card and gifts. You can send me your email address if you like and I will advise you when the next few workshops will be. Easy Peasy.

Just a bit of Glitz.
In my stash drawers I found some interesting things to add to some cards. Here are a couple I have made using some of it. You can always find something interesting in my craft drawers. I think the years of being a florist has something to do with that. Can't wait now to see what else I have hiding away. Interesting trinkets make interesting cards.

Busy , busy.
I have been a busy little beaver, not only nearly completing my 40 or so Christmas cards but also making beautiful cards for our very unsual social scene at the moment. For a couple that probably lead a dull social life to a lot of people we went out for dinner 3 nights in a row last week. This week we are out again for dinner and a Birthday Party. Wow. Cards were made for those occasions. It is so rewarding to be able to make personal cards for these special people. The personal touches are so special to the recipients too.
I think of their favorite colors or special things that they are interested in and try to make that the theme. Like the card with the bird on the front. That was made for a friend who was in Hospital , I know she likes pretty things and also I know she likes birds.
Til next time happy Stampin'

I have been making my Christmas Cards, and am making about 6 of each at a time. It makes sense to do all the cutting at once. Here are a few more I have made.

Christmas Cards..... Start designing now !
With Christmas being such a busy family time, I like to organise my Christmas cards early. I have my list , complete with the address and post code etc on my computer. All I have left to do is to make my personalized cards. Making your own you can put your very special love and thoughts into them. They don't always have to be the 'Run of the Mill' Style. I have a few thoughts for the ones that will go to my family and friends who deserve something that little bit special .
I will show you couple that I have started already. Some will be simple and some will be more ornate, suiting the personality of the recipients.
So friends it is time to get out your bibs and bobs and start creating, You all know what Christmas looks like so put your own touch to it. Write in them, address them as you make them and cross them off your list, so simple.Your family and friends will really appreciate your efforts.

Card and Envelope
I made this card for friends who are going overseas. I used the big note die cut for the message inside. Stamps used are from the Hostess set Asian Aristry , the Sheep is made from Scalloped Circle punch for the body. Head is part of narrow oval ,the feet part of the Scalloped circle and the ears are the wings of the new bird punch.

First Workshop done and dusted.
Sunday afternoon at our Nene Valley Shack saw ladies around 2 tables making book marks and cards. I am sure the ladies were very proud of their achievements and enjoyed their very first Stampin' Up! workshop.
I was a little nervous, being my very first one, but I am sure the teaching confidence will return to me in a little while. It is now 2 years since I retired from my Florist Shop and it doesn't take long for the 'conversing with a group of people' confidence to go into hiding. I am sure with a couple of workshops behind me all will be renewed.

My first Workshops
Well the day has finally arrived , with lovely new craft room for my creative juices to flow in, I have now arranged not one but 2 workshops this week. I am wondering really if I have bitten off more than I can chew with the first one. I invited just over the amount that I thought I could handle for my first one but everyone is coming and some bringing a friend too. It really should be a fun afternoon. I am hosting the first one at our beach house and have everything prepared. Wish me luck. If I can work out how to put a photo on this blog I will be able to show you my small but very functional craft room.
